I'm all for women's rights and all that but I really do feel that we are working too much trying to juggle home and work life. We just want it all. Is it worth it? Is it even what we want from life? I bet if most women were asked, they would say that secretly they would like to give up work. Or at the very least, just work part-time.

We feel that somehow we'd be "letting the side down" if we chose to just be a housewife. Although in saying that, I must admit that things are changing in terms of men working. Or not working as the case my be. It was always the role of the woman to stay at home looking after the kids whilst the man was the breadwinner. I now see a lot more men stay at home with kids because the wife is able to earn more in her career.

I'm all for choice I guess. Sometimes I wish that we could just sell up and live a very basic life in the woods where we wouldn't have TV, internet, cars, cell phones or anything else like that. I was watching a TV show a while ago and apparently in some SE Asian island they call these things "cargo." I guess they're right. These people are hunter gatherers and keep having to move from place to place. I would pretty much be impossible to lug all these things around with them.
