Was just surfing about on various forums and blogs are started to read about ways of making money online. I know that I'm terrible for staying focused but I thought that it might have been something that one of my older kids could do as a way of making a bit of extra money. It seems that basically what you need to do is create one of those free blogs at somewhere like Blogger, BlinkWeb or Weebly. You can also create article at HubPages and InfoBarrel where you place some ads. It doesn't cost any money at all.

At the moment I'm just trying to wade through a whole load of information out there about how to do this. As far as I can see there are so many different approaches it's making a my head spin. I mean, there are people talking about how you should blog about your passions whilst there are others who talk about finding out what problems people have and then targeting terms you think they would type in. Personally I think there are far too many people "folowing their passion." I think that it's important to be passionate about what you do but I don't simply think that it should be about hobbies. I think you should be passionate about making money. It doesn't mattrer whether it's toilet cleaning, rat trapping or whatever. The important thing is that you attack it with gusto.

This is not to say that I want to pollute the web with total junk. I just think you need to target a need. I mean, there are loads of people who set up companies who sell candles and soaps because they enjoy making them. But is there really a desparate need for handmade items like these. No, I'm going to get my kids to think about what problems there are that people are willing to pay money to have them fixed. I mean, if we had problems with ants in the house we would certainly pay money for a product or service to get rid of them. It would be a priority. How to fix, repair, get rif of, replace, clean, mend and such like are the things that pepole type in when they have a problem that they want to get help with.
